Peckham Peace Wall
One year on from the London Riots in Peckham, one of the six most damaged areas of London, Peckham Space art gallery have launched an art installation on Peckham Square. The artwork by Garudio Studiage is to commemorate the post-it notes, brought about by the Peckham Shed Theatre Company team, that appeared on Rye Lane after the devastating destruction of the area. Peckham Shed’s aim was to reunite the community and remind locals of a sense of respect and hope, reigniting the best qualities in human nature after scenes of the worst. The wall consists of 4,000 contributed notes and blank post-its for new messages to be left.
